First Peoples Principles of Learning

The First Peoples Principles of Learning is a set of educational guidelines rooted in Indigenous worldviews and ways of learning and knowing. They were developed to promote inclusive, respectful, and holistic approaches to teaching and learning. They emphasize relationships, culture, and connection to land, and they guide educators in creating learning environments that honor Indigenous perspectives. The FPPLs are particularly appropriate in supporting Indigenous students; however, all learners benefit from the holistic ways of knowing and being.
