PATH International Accreditation, Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association, 2025
I completed an audit of the KTRA qualifications for accreditation with PATH International. I completed the missing aspects of the PATH International rubric, reported on optional outstanding metrics with recommendations, and created a package for submission. I am particularly happy to have been able to help with an organization that does such important work with people with disabilities and exceptional needs.
Member, German Oldenburg Verband, 2019-2025
I have been a member of this horse breed registry since the 2020 breeding season. They provide breeder support, education, inspections, sales support, access to auctions for selling horses, and tours in Germany. They are partially funded by the German government as an extension of their agriculture ministry.
Campaign Manager, Liberal Party of Canada, 2021
I managed the campaign for MP Candidate, Shelley Desautels, when she challenged the incumbent during the 2021 General Election. I recruited, trained, and managed volunteers, managed the campaign budget, developed information campaigns, worked with nthe ational campaign daily, developed media products, communicated with traditional media, ran social media accounts, and did anything else that landed in my lap. It was a marathon over two months, most of which was amid forest fires.
Lunch with Friends, Salmon Arm, 2020-2021
This was an initiative that was started by several local community members in March 2020, when COVID shut down the local food resources for those who were unhoused, low-income, living with addiction, in crisis, or at risk of food insecurity. We provided a hot lunch for two hours, outside, every day for a two-hour period. We also provided a bagged lunch for those who needed to take food for dinner or were uncomfortable remaining to eat. We created wellness kits for both men and women, and provided Naloxone kits, clothing, OTC medications, and someone to talk to. Eventually, in 2021, local organizations were able to take over much of our functions again, and we integrated with the lunch program run once a week at the United Church.
Okanagan College Board of Governors and Education Council, 2006-2009
I served as a member of the OC BOG and the BOG representative on EdCo for three years and learned an immense amount about the administration of post-secondary education. I was able to attend conferences, meet with members of provincial cabinet, help develop budget priorities, advocate for increased public funding and reduced tuition fees, and be part of the curriculum approval process.
SABNES Brighouse Nature Centre, Salmon Arm, 2001-2004
I created education programs for elementary school-aged children, conducted tours with small groups (up to 30 people) of the Salmon Arm foreshore, and developed displays of local wildlife that reside on Shuswap Lake. I met school classes, scientists studying our populations, birding tourists, boating tourists, and people from all over the world.
